JFC Japan's History

1928

Founded in San Francisco, U.S.

Pacific Trading Co., Ltd. was established in Tokyo with a branch office in Osaka, under the Tokyo and Osaka representative offices of Pacific Trading Company (currently JFC International Inc.), which was founded in 1912 in the U.S. state of California

1941

Temporarily closed due to suspended trading with the U.S. following hostilities between the two countries during World War II

1947

Reopened for business with the revival of private trade after the war

1970

Kikkoman Corporation joins management of the company

Today, wholesaling is a core business for Kikkoman Corporation

1972

Japan Food (Hawaii) Inc. (currently JFC International Inc., Hawaii Branch) is established in Honolulu, Hawaii as a joint venture with Kikkoman Corporation and local capital

1973

Japan Food Canada Inc. (currently JFC International (Canada) Inc.) is established in Toronto, Canada as a joint venture with Kikkoman Corporation and local capital

1979

Kikkoman Trading Europe GmbH (currently JFC International (Europe) GmbH) is established in Düsseldorf, Germany as a joint venture with Kikkoman Corporation and JFC International Inc.

1984

JFC Hong Kong Ltd. is established in Hong Kong as a joint venture with Kikkoman Corporation

1986

Japan Food Corp. (Aust) Pty. Ltd. (currently JFC Australia Co. Pty. Ltd.) is established in Sydney, Australia as a joint venture with Kikkoman Corporation

1996

Head office relocated to Minato-ku, Tokyo due to reconstruction of the Marunouchi Building
Transferred operations from the Osaka Branch to the Tokyo Head Office

2000

U.S. branch office established in Seattle

2004

JFC New Zealand Ltd. is established in Auckland, New Zealand as a joint venture with JFC Australia Co. Pty. Ltd.

2007

JFC-Sheng Yuan Hong (Beijing) Trading. Co.,Ltd. is established in Beijing, China

2008

Head office relocated to Chuo-ku, Tokyo

2013

Company name changed to JFC JAPAN INC., a wholly owned subsidiary of Kikkoman Corporation

JFC (S) Pte Ltd. established in Singapore and JFC Malaysia Sdn Bhd. established in Malaysia.
Sino & JFCJ Co., Ltd. and JFC (Thailand) Co., Ltd. are established in Bangkok, Thailand.

2015

Representative office established in Bangkok, Thailand

2016

JFC Taipei CO.,Ltd. is established in Taiwan

2018
